Financial support for Highland Council foster carers
It is really important that our foster carers are rewarded for what they do.
The amount we pay depends on the number of children looked after and how old they are, £498 per week, per child (£798 per week for specialist fostering).
In addition to this, we also make payments including those to cover holidays and religious festivals.
Highland Council foster carers also get free membership of The Fostering Network.

Additional expenses payments
Expenses are also paid for mileage, equipment and clothing.
These depend on individual circumstances, but we ensure that none of our foster carers are out of pocket.
